Mini essays are your chance to analyze and reflect on the topic via your readings for the week. Create a clear thesis statement and craft your essay around supporting and explaining this thesis. The thesis should relate to the topic (global factories, labor, and gender/women) but the topic cannot BE your thesis. You need to make a specific statement as your thesis.
For mini essay 1, you will use the readings for weeks 5 and 6 to craft a thesis and expand on it in 2 single-spaced pages. Go for quality and brevity.
Essays should be approximately 600-900 words and should demonstrate that you have completed the readings and have engaged in thoughtful consideration of the themes contained within. These essays do not need a title page. They should be single spaced, 12-point font, with a reference list and in-text citations. Students should use ASA or APA style for citations. You may also cite any lectures from Dr. Schoen or others we have watched so far this semester.
