For this assignment you will be watching several parts from the film, People Like Us: Social Class in America. This documentary examines how Americans from across the country view their own position in society and others. There are nine parts from this film here:

Please watch all of the parts and then answer the following questions.
1. Think about your own experience with social class. Discuss a time when you might have experienced classism, or a time when you might have ridiculed someone because they belonged to a lower class than you.
2. How does social class affect our life chances?
3. Why do you think social class is such an important structure in our society? In other words, why does it even exist at all?
4. From the nine parts of the film that you viewed, which person or persons has had the biggest impact on you (positive or negative) with what they had to say about social class? Include the name(s) of the person(s) and briefly explain what they said and why you found it to be so impactful.
