The grades for journal entries will reflect the extent to which they demonstrate an understanding of one or more of the key ideas from the required reading assigned for that class AND the quality of the insights you develop by applying those concepts to your own experiences, those of people you know and/or current events. You should proof-read your entries to make sure they are clearly written and organized, and you should ensure that you have provided some specific reference to the reading for the week as well as specific examples from your own or someone else’s’ experience or an example from current events. The journal entries MUST be handed in BEFORE class. Each entry should be between 300-500 words and reference any non-course material that is used.
