The pre-draft must be at least six pages in length (excluding the title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA Style. Note: You will receive feedback from your instructor on this pre-draft that you will use to write the Final Laboratory Report, which is due in Week 5. The Final Laboratory Report has a page requirement of seven to nine pages. Your ideas for each section of this pre-draft do not need to be fully fleshed out but do your best to set yourself up well for the Final Laboratory Report.

In your paper, include the following sections:
Introduction
For the pre-draft, this section should be about a half to one page in length and do the following:
Describe the background information on the environmental and sustainability topics presented in the labs and an overview of why the labs were conducted.
Include your topic sentence for this paragraph.
List the main points and sources you will use to support those points.
Identify information from other experiments previously conducted that looks at resource challenges similar to the two labs.
List the cited sources you will use from governmental and credible non-governmental sources that conduct similar scientific studies and experiments.
Identify the hypothesis from each lab simulation and the reasoning for those predictions.
The hypothesis should not be adjusted to reflect the “right” answer. You do not lose points for an inaccurate hypothesis. Scientists often revise their hypotheses based on scientific evidence following the experiments.
Materials and Methods
This is a summary of all of the materials, including scientific equipment used in the two lab activities, and the methods used to conduct the experiments. For the pre-draft, this section should be about one page in length and do the following:
Describe the experiments in outline format with enough detail so that another scientist reading the report could replicate the experiment.

Summarize the methods in your own words.
Do not simply copy and paste from the lab instructions.
Results
This section should include any data and observations from the experiments. See the Tables, Images, & AppendicesLinks to an external site. resource in the Writing Center for help with this step. This section should not include personal opinions or discussion, only a description of the results. For the pre-draft, this section should be about a half to one page in length and do the following:
Include all data and pertinent figures for the experiments in the labs.
Describe all data and figures in a written paragraph.
List and summarize the key points in outline format.

Discussion
This section should interpret your data and arrive at the key findings or conclusions. It should be one page in length. You can outline each of the bullet points below:
Explain your initial hypothesis (for each lab) and whether it is accepted or rejected based on specific results from the experiments conducted in the labs.
Analyze how the results of the experiments and topics of each lab relate to the environmental challenges of resource sustainability.
Identify the natural resources that are present and how they are threatened.
Discuss the real-world implications and applications of the results from multiple perspectives including environmental, business/economic, political, and
If you outline this section, provide a list of at least one point for each of these topics and which cited sources support the points.
Develop at least one policy or technology solution for the specific situation presented in each lab, taking into account the environmental, business/economic, political, and social impacts.
For the outline, describe the nature of the solution for each lab and mention how it will benefit at least one of the factors listed above.
Evaluate at least two examples of businesses, organizations, cities, states, or countries implementing innovative technology solutions and policies to promote sustainability related to the lab topics.
List the supporting examples and the sources.
Conclusion
For the pre-draft, this section should be about a half to one page in length and do the following:
Summarize the purpose, methods, results, and key findings of the Laboratory
